In our Sanctuary and virtually on Facebook and YouTube.

Katherine Adele Josephs will be called to the Torah as a Bat Mitzvah on Saturday, December 21, at Congregation Ner Tamid, at 5:00 p.m. She will be reading the Torah portion Mikeitz.

Katie is a 7th grader at Bob Miller Middle School, where she enjoys playing flute with the band, studying English Language Arts, and being on the A-B Honor Roll. Katie loves making art, spending time with her pets, creating luxurious camping experiences for her family, ocean swimming, dancing, listening to indie and jazz music, and attending concerts.

Katie is the youngest child of Erin and Asher Josephs and the younger sister of Benton Josephs. She is the great-niece of Nanette and Ira Spector, granddaughter of Frederic and Patricia Josephs, and Bette and Wayne Edelman.

For the past two years, with the assistance of CNT Sisterhood’s Camp Scholarship program, Katie has been delighted to be a camper at Camp Daisy and Harry Stein in the mountains of Prescott, AZ, following in the footsteps of her dear cousins Brandon, Aaron and Amy Spector.

Katie loves all the friends and heartfelt connections she has made while attending Religious School and Shabbat Services at Congregation Ner Tamid. She looks forward to continuing to nurture her Jewish roots by attending the Kesher program, NTTY,  Tribe, Sisterhood, and practicing Mitzvot in her spare time.

Katie loves caring for little ones and aspires to be a Postpartum Nurse someday. She has chosen to help Nevada’s tiniest residents by collecting essentials and volunteering with the local organization Baby’s Bounty for her Mitzvah project. Baby’s Bounty provides assistance and infant essentials to at-risk families with newborns through their Baby Bundle program “A Baby Shower In-a-Bag,” Diaper Bank & Distribution, and their Safe Sleep and Baby Basics courses. Baby’s Bounty has provided more than 5 million diapers and 10 million wipes to more than 45,000 families in need as well as providing over 10,000 families with the tools and education to take the best possible care of their newborn. Please consider donating in some way to this great cause at babysbounty.org.
