The Academy Awards ceremony takes place on Sunday, March 2, but CNT’s Film Chavurah will host two screenings of two Oscar-nominated films in February, thanks to CNT Film Chavurah co-chair Anthony Saenz who has worked actively in the film industry for 40 years and obtained these “screeners” through his SAG-AFTRA membership.

The first movie is “A Real Pain,” on Tuesday, February 11.

It’s a 2024 buddy road comedy-drama film written and directed by Jesse Eisenberg. An international co-production between Poland and the United States, it stars Eisenberg and Kieran Culkin as mismatched Jewish American cousins who travel to Poland to honor their late grandmother.

This film is nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor (Kieran Culkin) and Best Original Screenplay (Jesse Eisenberg).
