Layla Sydney Schnitzer – Saturday, November 2, 10:00 a.m.

Layla Sydney Schnitzer will be called to the Torah as a Bat Mitzvah on Saturday, November 2, at 10:00 a.m., at Congregation Ner Tamid. Layla is a 7th grade student at The Adelson School. Layla has been a competitive dancer since she was 6-years-old. The dance studio is her second home where she puts in hours of work daily. She competes in many styles including jazz, hip hop, and lyrical but her favorite is musical theater. When she isn’t dancing, she enjoys reading, swimming, hanging out with her friends and siblings, and traveling, especially to Huntington Beach, CA. She is also a big animal lover. For her Bat Mitzvah Project, Layla chose to help raise money for the Israel Guide Dog Center for the Blind, because it combines her love of dogs as well as people. The IGDC is an organization that pairs therapy dogs, with Israelis who are blind, autistic, have PTSD or other special needs. It costs $1,000 to train a puppy and she has set an ambitious goal to raise $3,000 to help train three puppies. If you would like to support her project and the IGDC, visit Layla’s project page, https://shorturl.at/fFYPV.
