We will continue our study of Our Jewish Heritage,... learning about the last Jewish rule over the land of Israel: the Hasmoneans.  The Hasmoneans ruled over an expanded definition of Israel's boundaries.  The Jewish Hasmoneans ruled for about 130 years, and were the last independent Jewish rulers over the land of Israel until 1948 CE (foreign occupation from 63 BCE to 1948 CE).
