Stacey Birkby will lead us in studying the Torah portion of the week, which is Miketz (Gen 41:1-44:17). The story is getting exciting! Joseph rises to power in Egypt and his brothers come asking for help through the famine, not recognizing him. Some intrigue ensues, and next week, one of the best portions! The reconciliation.

We will continue learning about the last Jewish rule over the land of Israel: the Hasmoneans. The Hasmoneans were the last independent Jewish rulers over the land of Israel until 1948 CE (foreign occupation from 63 BCE to 1948 CE).
