In conjunction with Parashat Mishpatim, this Shabbat is called “Repro Shabbat” and is sponsored by the National Council of Jewish Women. Rabbi Cookie Lea Olshein will lead Torah Study and focus on bodily autonomy and reproductive rights found in the Torah and later Jewish texts in honor of “Repro Shabbat,” which is being observed by more than 200 Congregations across America.

Rabbi Olshein will lead us in studying the Torah portion of the week, which is Mishpatim (Exodus 21:1-24:18).

OUR JEWISH HERITAGE @ 12:00 p.m.

Reading through the Tanakh, Book of Maccabees, Antiquities of the Jews by Josephus, and The Wars of the Jews by Josephus, we will explore the development of Judaism throughout history. In the past year, we’ve studied Our Jewish Heritage through the Hasmonean dynasty, and are embarking on the Early Roman Period, the Great Jewish Revolt, the Destruction of the Second Temple, and the evolution of Judaism from a Temple-centered cult of sacrifice to a prayer-centered community of mitzvot observance.
