"The Daily Postcard" Art Exhibit

Friday, January 24, 2025 24 Tevet 5785

12:00 PM - 12:00 PM 4 days afterCNT's Lobby

Congregation Ner Tamid will display the traveling exhibition “The Daily Postcard” by Zeev Engelmayer, from Friday, January 24 – Tuesday, January 28. Arrive early before Shabbat in the Round this Friday at 7:00 p.m. to view the exhibit in CNT’s Lobby.

In the wake of the tragic events of October 7, Israeli illustrator and comic artist Engelmayer, known affectionately as Shoshke, embarked on a heartfelt journey of expression through art. Each day, he creates and shares poignant postcards that depict the hostages and their families, mourners, injured and fallen soldiers, and the eventual return of the hostages. Through these daily postcards, the viewer is invited into the intimate world of those affected, allowing us to empathize with their experiences, share in their hopes and dreams, and even find solace amidst the vibrant colors and imaginative scenes.

This unique and vivid exhibition serves as a beacon of light and positivity during dark times, aiming to inspire hope and resilience in the face of adversity. By keeping the memory of the abducted individuals alive through his art, Engelmayer’s work serves as a powerful reminder of the human spirit's ability to endure and overcome even the most challenging circumstances.

“I draw them in a very naive manner,” Engelmayer said. “There’s innocence and a childlike quality here, something that resonates with the child within each of us, seeking to find goodness amidst all of this. The idea is not just to inspire hope but to keep the memory of the abducted alive – and I will persist until they are all returned.”

This unique October 7th context artwork experience was brought to Las Vegas by Tomer & Leigh Steinberg in collaboration with Hope for Israel Alliance (HIA), thanks to their collaboration with artist Zeev Engelmayer, with the blessings of the Hostages and Missing Families Forum.

The Daily Postcard exhibition has been showcased in Australia, Denmark, Italy, Hong Kong, Romania, and other cities around the world, offering the visitors a powerful experience of resilience and hope.

Donations in support of the exhibit will go to Project Green Pavements.
