Emma Katz – Saturday, September 6, 10:00 a.m.

In our Sanctuary and virtually on Facebook and YouTube.

Emma Katz will be called to the Torah as a Bat Mitzvah at Congregation Ner Tamid on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Emma is a thriving 8th grader at Bob Miller Middle School, keeping busy with Student Council and Musical Theater. She has a deep love for her Jewish roots. Emma is the oldest daughter of Amy and Jarrad Katz, a big sister to Mason, and a wonderful granddaughter to all eight of her grandparents.

This summer, after spending time with friends and family at the beach, Emma completed her sixth summer at Camp Alonim in Simi Valley. Her favorite parts of camp are Israeli Dancing, Shabbat, all of the bunk activities, and the overall community. Camp holds a very special place in Emma’s heart.

In sticking with her Jewish education, she plans to begin BBYO this fall, following in her parent’s footsteps.

Emma enjoys hanging with her friends, going to concerts, reading, shopping, baking, and cuddling her dogs. Emma’s love for dogs led her to find a local rescue organization called A Path 4 Paws https://apath4paws.org to support for her Mitzvah project. She has already collected countless blankets and towels for the organization and plans to continue to assist by volunteering in the coming years. There is a box in the lobby of the Temple if you have any new or gently used blankets or towels you’d like to donate.
